Piano Tuition

Annual Piano Tuition includes:

38 Piano Lessons: 32 during the school year and 6 flexible week options during summer.

3 Recitals per year hosted by Portzline Music Academy.

2 Make-up options during the school year as shown on the calendar.

Piano Marvel: Beginning in September of 2026, the digital learning tool, Piano Marvel for home and studio use, will be included in the cost of tuition. Each student will have their own premium account, which will include method books, sight reading activities, classical music, technical studies, and plenty of popular songs. A digital piano at home with a suitable device and midi connection is required of all students in group lessons. Private students will also have their own Piano Marvel account available to use in the studio and/or at home as recommended.

Note Rush is a note recognition app available for use in the studio. It is available for a small one-time fee to use at home, and for most students, this is required. It must be used with a device at the piano. Sprout Beat is a music theory game app that kids can work on in the studio and/or at home as a fun replacement for theory books. There is no extra charge.

An Extensive Lending Library is available in the studio for students to explore a variety of music. Along with Piano Marvel, this will save on music costs and provide hard copy options.

Organ Training with church music emphasis is available for more advanced students in place of piano lessons as needed for basic church organ skills training.

National Federation of Music Clubs: The Solo Festival (March) and the Concerto/Duet Festival (November) are available each year in our area. These festivals consist of individual student evaluations by judges and include scores, certificates and trophy awards. $15.00 fee per student per event.

Utah’s Achievement in Music program, also known as AIM, is held in March or April each year. Students who are willing to develop the necessary theory, tecnnique, and keyboard skills for this festival will be invited to participate. $25.00 fee per student. This event also consists of individual student evalutions by judges, and includes scores, certificates, and medals.

Additional events may be recommended according to an individual student’s needs, wants, and ability.

There is a Family Discount offered when 3 or more students per family are enrolled. The discount is $10.00 off per month for the 3rd child, the 4th child, and so forth.

Private students enrolled in 45-minute or 60-minute lessons have a highly discounted tuition rate in exchange for their willingness to practice at least the same amount daily as their weekly lesson length. This is meant to benefit those who have the inclination and the desire to become advanced pianists.

Monthly payments are due at the beginning of the month. Payments received after the 15th of the month will be charged a $10.00 late fee. These monthly installments are based on the yearly tuition rate, and include 38 lessons and 3 recitals from August—July.

Students who drop out of lessons (including summer) may return to the studio if there are openings. Please give one month’s notice if you plan to have your child drop out. You are required to pay the monthly tuition in full for that last month.
